Taung is a small town with a rich history. It speaks of culture and unity amongst its people. Taung means “place of the lion” and was named after Tau, the chief of the Tswana speaking Legoya or BaTaung tribe. Tau, being the Tswana word for lion. With the town’s rich history and scenic views, it offers an unforgettable experience that speaks to those who appreciate this hidden gem’s charisma and storytelling nature.
